MOUNT MITTAMATITE REGIONAL PARK

Mount Mittamatite Regional Park is a short drive from Corryong. It features stunning wildflowers in Spring and lookouts that provide magnificent views of the Murray River valley all year round. The Park is 4,280 hectares in size.

Mt Mittamatite Summit - located on the highest point in the park (1,003 m) are radio and aviation communication facilities and a fire spotting tower. Rock climbing and abseiling often occur nearby.

The park's rocky slopes rise sharply from the surrounding plains and provide shelter for numerous rare plants and is also home to Eastern Grey kangaroos, black wallabies, wombats, possums and many birds – including Australia’s largest owl species, the Powerful Owl.

Be sure to visit Emberys Lookout, a highlight of Mount Mittamatite Regional Park.
