The Great River Road

The Great River Road stretches 155 km from Bellbridge to Khancoban, leading you to the upper reaches of Australia's longest river, the mighty Murray. This scenic drive is the perfect start to your Murray River journey, featuring wayside stops, sculptures, and information boards that connect you with the history and character of each location.

Travel your own way, whether you're cycling or driving, and experience the region's beauty at your own pace. Cyclists and vehicle drivers alike love this route for its picturesque views and taking the road less travelled. Coming from the west, you'll cross the picturesque Bethanga Bridge with its elegant arches and follow the road along Lake Hume, where the Murray River meets the lakes edge. With the Murray River rarely out of sight, each turn offers a fresh perspective.

With four distinct seasons, the Great River Road offers a dynamic experience throughout the year. In winter and spring, you'll be treated to sweeping vistas of lush green pastures with the Snowy Mountains in the distance. Snowy Valleys Way

Weaving over 300 km through vineyards and bushland, over vast rivers and through picturesque villages skip the highways and discover the Snowy Valleys Way. From Beechworth in Victoria’s High Country, meander eastward before heading north through the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains to Gundagai in NSW.

MURRAY VALLEY HIGHWAY

This touring route starts in Tallangatta, the town that moved in the 1950s. The well maintained Murray Valley Highway provides opportunities to stop and explore beautiful historic trestle bridges between Bullioh and Koetong. Koetong is home to the Koetong Hotel, one of the oldest in the area and frequented by beautiful native birds. The route leads to Corryong, home of the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival and the final resting place of Jack Riley, 'The Man From Snowy River'.
